Below are details about continuing education and license renewal in Illinois. 

Illinois Chiropractic Continuing Education Requirements: 150 CME hours are required per three-year renewal period, next ending in 2026. A minimum of 60 hours of the required 150 hour must be in Type 1 or Formal category. A minimum of 1 hour is required in Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, 1 hour in Implicit Bias Awareness Training, 1 hour in Alzheimer’s Disease or Dementia Training, and 1 hour in Child Abuse Prevention. After January 1, 2025, practitioners must complete at least one hour of cultural competency training every two renewal periods. Licensee must submit certificates of completion with their renewal form.

Illinois accepts all 150 hours in online continuing education courses. All online courses from A Better Chiro are considered Type 1 or Formal and can be taken to meet all 150 hours. A Better Chiro continuing education is administered by Life Chiropractic College West, an accredited CCE College, and offers approved courses for licensure by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
